When you are planning a beach trip, a city such as Sydney probably isn’t high on your list. After all, when people think of Sydney, they usually think of city life and culture. However, Sydney has a great location as it’s close to many amazing beaches, so here’s why it is ideal for a beach break.
You get the best of both worlds
Being in the city, yet close to beaches, gives you the best of both worlds. This is handy because:

There are a variety of beaches
Beaches close to cities tend to be packed, but in Sydney, you have a choice of beaches, so can find one that suits your style.
There are certainly some buzzing city beaches, where you’ll find people playing volleyball or surfing, which can be fun for a day out with friends. However, if you want to get away from it all, you can hop on a ferry, or even on your bike, and go to some much more peaceful, remote beaches, that feel far from civilisation yet are close to the city. And of course, there’s the famous Bondi Beach, which is an experience in itself.
You can stay just steps from a beach
While you can stay close to the CBD if you want a city break, you can also find more beachy spots such as Palm Beach Sydney accommodation that either has a sea view, or is just a short stroll from the sand. However, you are still well connected to Sydney if you want to go and do some sightseeing, and you can use public transport or rent a car to get around.
If you are trying to decide between a beach or a city break, then why not go for both? Sydney offers the best of both worlds; within an hour of the CBD you’ll find some amazing beaches, and it’s easy to get around by bus or ferry to see it all. You could even spend a few days taking in the iconic sights, then the rest of your holiday relaxing on the sand.
