pat_forsytheMORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins announced today that Pat Forsythe has left the team and plans to transfer to another school.

Forsythe, a 6-foot-11 center, missed the majority of the 2011-12 season with a stress fracture in his right ankle. The freshman from Brunswick, Ohio, appeared in seven games, averaging 2.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

He had a season-high four points in games against Akron and Mississippi State and a season-high seven rebounds against Alcorn State.

Pictures surfaced yesterday of a new design that could possibly cover the gray walls at Milan Puskar Stadium. It's no secret that WVU officials are looking into several upgrades for the future, and this looks to be the first of those upgrades.

West Virginia University put out a request for bids to install graphic vinyl banners along the lower walls. Let's take a look.

basketball_thumbnailBRISTOL, Conn. - For the fifth consecutive season, ESPN will celebrate the opening of the college basketball season with the College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon.

This year’s marathon on Tuesday, Nov. 13 will include 11 men’s games over 24 consecutive hours on ESPN – plus a schedule of matchups across ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 – beginning at midnight ET with West Virginia at No. 20 Gonzaga in the Old Spice Classic. Gonzaga won last year’s second round NCAA Tournament game against West Virginia.

The lineup for ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 is to be determined.

Timber Creek HS RB Zaire Williams had originally planned to announce his college destination during his senior season. But after making a camping stop at West Virginia just last month, the talented playmaker bumped his decision date up.

On Monday, Williams pledged his services to the Mountaineers, becoming the 8th commitment in the 2013 class.

William Penn Charter School (Pa.) wide receiver Daryl Worley announced his top three schools over the weekend with WVU leading the pack. Not only does WVU lead for his services, but they have a visit coming from the speedster next week.

The talented back is no stranger to Morgantown having visited the University City for the Gold-Blue Game in April, and the 7-on7 tournament in June.

For the Mountaineers, seven guys have already made the call to play for the Gold and Blue.
