Champagnat Cath. (FL) outside lineback/safety Isaac McDonald made the call to the Mountaineers this morning becoming the 9th verbal commitment of the 2013 recruiting class.
McDonald was once a Clemson commit, but decided to open things back up. Now, he's a Mountaineer.
McDonald is a 6-foot-5, 205 pound outside linebacker/safety, but the Mountaineers recruited him to play safety.
His size may remind you of former Mountaineer safety Robert Sands. McDonald has long called Sands his idol and wanted to craft his playing sytle after the Mountaineer great.
McDonald is rated a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com.
He claimed offers from Clemson, USF, UNC, Notre Dame, and Louisville.
Running backs coach Robert Gillespie had the task of handling McDonald's recruitment.
